Fatliquor for soft clothing, Nappa and furniture leather

GREIBOSOL LTH

GREIBOSOL LTH is a high-performance sulphited fatliquor based on a combination of synthetic and natural fatty substances, specifically developed for clothing leather, nappa leather, and very soft furniture leather made from hides. Supplied as a yellowish to whitish emulsion, its formulation is engineered for deep penetration into the collagen fibre structure, delivering a firm, defined grip and a distinctive special softness that is characteristic of premium soft leather articles requiring a pronounced handle.

The deep penetration of GREIBOSOL LTH into the fibre structure ensures thorough and even lubrication throughout the full leather cross-section, which simultaneously provides the essential foundation for consistently level and uniform colourations across the entire hide. This is particularly critical for light and pastel shades, where any unevenness in fat distribution would immediately result in irregular dye uptake and visible colour patchiness on the finished leather.

GREIBOSOL LTH is fully compatible with other anionic fatliquors and can be combined with products such as GREIBOSOL SFH to achieve different softness, handle, and surface effects. It can be added to the float undiluted or pre-diluted by stirring into water at 60°C prior to application. When GREIBOSOL LTH is applied, the residual fat content of the working liquor is particularly low, resulting in reduced COD values in the tannery effluent and contributing to a more economical and environmentally responsible production process.

Application Examples

GREIBOSOL LTH is the preferred fatliquor wherever deep fibre penetration, a firm and defined handle, and consistently level dyeing are the primary quality requirements.

In the production of clothing leather and garment nappa, GREIBOSOL LTH delivers the deep inner lubrication and firm handle that are essential for structured, high-quality aniline and semi-aniline garment leathers, where a pronounced grip and natural surface quality are equally important.

For nappa leather production from bovine and ovine hides, GREIBOSOL LTH provides deep and even fibre lubrication that forms the foundation of the firm yet supple handle and fine, smooth grain that define premium nappa quality in fashion, accessories, and automotive upholstery applications.

In the production of very soft furniture leather, GREIBOSOL LTH supports a consistent, defined handle and level colour appearance across large hide surfaces, making it particularly well suited for articles where a firm grip combined with softness and colour uniformity are critical quality parameters.

For specific softness and handle requirements, GREIBOSOL LTH can be blended with GREIBOSOL SFH or other compatible anionic fatliquors to optimise the fatliquor recipe for the particular article and end use.
