Its formulation contains strong complexing components that effectively fix and stabilise the chrome contained in the product, promoting uniform chrome distribution throughout the collagen fibre structure and ensuring reliable and consistent tanning results.GREIBOTAN CS produces smooth, very tight grain leathers while simultaneously improving softness and reducing the stretch of nappa and other soft leathers. In pre-tanning, GREIBOTAN CS prepares the hide structure for the subsequent main chrome tanning step by improving fibre opening and ensuring more uniform uptake and distribution of the chrome tanning salt throughout the full cross-section of the hide, resulting in more even wet blue quality and reduced variation between dense and loose areas.
In retanning, GREIBOTAN CS is used to upgrade and refine the properties of wet blue leather, delivering the tight, smooth grain and improved softness that are particularly valued in nappa, garment, and other soft leather articles where the combination of grain firmness and supple handle is critical.
In rechroming operations, GREIBOTAN CS is the preferred chrome syntan for maintaining and reinforcing the chrome character of the leather, ensuring good fullness and softness without compromising grain tightness. Its complete bath exhaustion at elevated temperature makes it a highly efficient and economical choice, maximising chrome fixation and minimising residual chrome in the process bath.
