Defoaming agent – Defoamer paper manufacturer
GREIMIN SST
GREIMIN SST is a high-performance defoaming agent specifically formulated for the effective foam control of surfactant-containing aqueous media. Its versatile formulation makes it particularly well suited for demanding foam suppression applications in paper processing and wastewater treatment, where surfactant-induced foaming can significantly impair process stability and product quality.
GREIMIN SST can be used undiluted or as a diluted aqueous emulsion, offering maximum flexibility for integration into existing dosing and process systems. The product or its emulsion should be stirred or shaken briefly immediately before use to ensure homogeneous distribution.
For optimal results, GREIMIN SST should be introduced at a point of turbulent flow within the system. Dosing should always be carried out incrementally: add a small initial quantity, allow sufficient time for thorough distribution throughout the liquid, evaluate the achieved defoaming effect, and apply additional product only if required. This step-by-step approach minimises consumption and prevents overdosing. Typical working concentration is 0.01 to 0.05%. Suitability and optimal dosage should always be determined by on-site trials under actual process conditions.

Application Examples
GREIMIN SST is the preferred defoaming solution across a range of industrial applications where surfactant-containing aqueous media generate persistent foam that disrupts process efficiency and product quality.
In paper and board manufacturing, GREIMIN SST delivers consistent and reliable foam control at the size press and in coating colour applications, where uncontrolled foaming can cause surface defects, coating irregularities, and machine runnability issues that directly impact finished product quality and production output.
In coating colour preparation and application, GREIMIN SST effectively suppresses foam formation in highly surfactant-loaded coating formulations, ensuring uniform coat weight distribution and defect-free surface quality on coated papers and boards.
In industrial wastewater treatment, GREIMIN SST provides efficient defoaming of surfactant-containing effluents, supporting stable plant operation and compliance with discharge regulations.
Legal Information
GREIMIN SST may develop turbidity or sediment during extended storage. Neither condition affects product efficacy or dosing performance. Product viscosity is temperature-dependent. GREIMIN SST is not frost-sensitive. The product can be returned to its original state at any time by stirring, pumping, or gentle warming. Stored in sealed original containers under normal temperature conditions between +5°C and +30°C, GREIMIN SST has a shelf life of at least one year.
